CHRIST IN YOU, THE HOPE OF GLORY

For Christ to be in you, you must have His Spirit. If you do not have the Spirit of God in you, it means you are not a child of God and you have no portion in Him. Romans 8:14:

“For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.”

If the Spirit of God is in you, He will be directing you and He cannot mislead you. When Christ is in you, certain spiritual qualities will be made manifest in your life and you will be blessed physically on earth and at the end, you will enter eternal glory.

1.Assurance that Christ is in you

When you believe Him, you will experience Him. If you believe that Christ is in you then you will experience the manifestation. Ephesians 3:17-18:

“That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love, May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height;”

We are saved by faith and by faith we receive the Spirit of God in us. By faith we know that the Spirit of God dwells in us, dealing with us and directing us, and by this Spirit we would have the love of brethren. You cannot love without the Spirit of God in you because love is one of the fruits of the Spirit. When you love your neighbour then the Spirit of God is dwelling in you. He gave His Spirit to you at new birth. The Lord Jesus Christ will give you His Spirit when you are born again. You cannot be born again without the Spirit of God in you. There must be a difference in your life by the Spirit of God, which dwells in you.

Romans 8:16:

“The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:”

If you are born again, the Spirit of God that dwells in you will bear witness in you. You cannot know that you are a child of God by yourself but by the Spirit of God that dwells in you.

You will love to read the word of God and love to pray very well because the Spirit of God that dwells in you will lead you to pray earnestly and He will lead you to read the word of God. You will love to be praying at all times because the Spirit will tell you that you are to pray,

When you are truly and sincerely speaking in a new tongue, it is another manifestation that the Spirit of God is in you. Whenever you want to pray, if the Spirit of God is in you, He will lead you to pray in tongues. You cannot be praying in understanding at all times. It is good to pray in understanding but the Spirit of God in you will at times lead you to pray in tongues. Romans 8:26:

“Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.”

By your fruits we shall know you. Matthew 7:20:

“Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.”

  1. Manifestation of spiritual qualities

(a) You will be dead to sin and the flesh if Christ is in you.

Galatians 5:16-21:

“This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.

For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: a

nd these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would

But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law. Now the works of the flesh are manifest,

Which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, Envyings, murders, drunkenness,

revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past,

that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.”

(b) You will bring forth the fruits of the Spirit. The Spirit of God that dwells in you will help you to bear fruits and by this, people will know that you are a child of God. Galatians 5:22-23:

“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.”

The above are the fruits you will bear if you have the Spirit of God in you. I have told you before that you will have love, as you know that Jesus is love. If you have love, it means that God is dwelling in you because God is love.

(c) You will not only love to obey God’s commandments but you will also find it very easy. There are many people that cannot keep the laws of God because they do not have His Spirit in them. It is the Spirit of God that dwells in you that helps you to keep His commandments and it will be very easy for you.

1 John 5:3:

“For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.”

His commandments are very easy to obey if you have His Spirit inside you and you submit totally to the Spirit of God. It will be very easy for you to keep because it is not by your flesh, your knowledge or your power that will make you to keep the commandments of God. It is only by the Spirit of God.

(d) You will be an aggressive soul winner. You will go out to witness. You will witness to people around you and you will bring members of your family to the Lord, both young and old. It will be very easy to bring them to our Lord Jesus Christ because the power is in you.

(e) You will be occupied for our Lord Jesus Christ because there are works for all groups. Where the power of God dwells, there must not be laziness. Your energy must be used for our Lord Jesus Christ.

  1. Physical and material blessings

When Christ is in you, you will receive certain blessings, here and above. Eternal glory is for us. You will be renewed. God will become your Physician. He will become your Provider. He will become your Deliverer, Defender, Sustainer and He will support you all the days of your life. Psalm 103:1-5 lists the blessings you will get from God. He will forgive you all your sins. He will be guiding you everywhere you go. He will be telling you what to say and what not to say and He will take you to glory.

(b) He will promote you. Psalm 75:6-7:

“For promotion cometh neither from the east, nor from the west, nor from the south. But God is the judge: he putteth down one, and setteth up another.”

Our promotion does not come from any human being. All promotions are from God. When it is time for God to promote you, it will come and nobody can stop it.

(c) He will not forsake you at all times including old age.

Matthew 28:20.

“Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.”

(d) He will be your guide. Psalm 48:14:

“For this God is our God for ever and ever: he willbe our guide even unto death.”

If God will not guide you, then He is not God. If you are born again, He has to guide you. He has to give you the good things of life. He will be with you always as long as you keep His commandments.

(e)

You will be receiving answers to your prayers. As a born-again Christian. God will be answering your prayers if doing His will. John 15:16:

” Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you.”

Jesus Christ said that you are not the one who has chosen Him but that He is the One that has chosen you. He wants you to go out to everywhere and bear fruits and that your fruits should abide. If your fruits abide, He will be giving you new things. He has already promised that if you are doing this He will be with you. Your prayers must be answered, unless you are selfish in your prayers. God does not want you alone in His Kingdom so if you want Him to hear your prayers, you must remember other people too. As He has promised that He will answer our prayers, He will do it. God is not a liar. Jeremiah 33:3:

“Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not.”

He will surely answer you if you are doing His will.

  1. Eternal glory

(a) You will be received to eternal glory.

Psalm 73:24:

“Thou shalt guide me with thy counsel, and afterward receive me to glory.”

The tribulation on earth is far too small compared to the endless and everlasting glory we shall enjoy with Christ.

(b) 2 Corinthians 4:17:

“For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory;”

If we can enter our Father’s glory, we shall see the endless everlasting glory where there is neither pain nor suffering.

(c) You will reign forever with Christ.

Revelation 22:5:

“And there shall be no night there; and they need no candle, neither light of the sun; for the Lord God giveth them light: and they shall reign for ever and ever, “

Again, we are told that we do not need light over there because Jesus Christ is the light.

(d) You will receive an eternal reward.

This is where you have to be careful. If you do not do your work, you will not get any reward from God. The reward of God is not based on popularity or your background because God is no respecter of anybody. If you do your work, God will give you eternal reward.

Conclusion:

Revelation 3:20:

“Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.”

In the book of Revelation, we are told that our Lord Jesus Christ is on the gate of your heart, knocking every minute. He wants to enter and He wants you to open your heart and allow Him to enter. The best thing is to allow Him to enter into our hearts. If there is anything there that will disturb us from going to His Kingdom, He will help us to remove it because it is not good for anybody to miss Heaven. If it cannot be removed gently, God will remove it by force.
