14 Sure Promises of God
What is a promise?
A promise is to commit to something or action; to make an oath. A Promise is an agreement or a covenant made to someone to do something for that person or an affirmation of what one intends to do.
God our heavenly father is a faithful God, his promises are true. The promises are so many and are found in the bible from the book of Genesis to revelation. These promises are written in the bible for us to make reference to and to assure us of God’s love and that he won’t abandon us.
There are many people in the bible we read about God’s promises in their Life which are guaranteed by the word of God. Hebrews 6:13 says, “For when God made promise to Abraham, because he could swear by no greater, he sware by himself”,
God’s promises are real and when he makes a promise it will surely come to pass. These promises are for us to hold on to when we are down with challenges. We can rely on God’s promises because he is faithful.
When he makes a promise he keeps to it. Numbers 23:19 says “God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?”.
He never change neither does he disappoints. He is divine and pure, He is an honest God he can’t lie, he is sincere so that is why is word can’t return void, it must be established.
He is unlike humans that is not reliable. Humans might change due to experience, situations of life. But God remains the same, he doesn’t make a decision and decides to change his mind about it. He is not influenced by environment or by humans.
He knows everything about us and all that we want. God himself is wisdom, before he makes a promise, he has sealed it and knows why he made that promise.
God doesn’t takes us for a ride or deceive us. If he has uttered a word it will come to pass, if he has said he will do it, he doesn’t take back his word. So we are to trust God’s word and promises because they are true.
It might take sometime. There may be delay but be rest assured that his promises will be fulfilled. Its just a matter of time and everything will become a reality.
God works at his own perfect timing, he doesn’t depend on man before he makes a decision. So even if we are in a haste or we want it at a particular time, he won’t listen until it’s the appointed time.
This is the more reason we should study his word often to enable us understand how he operates. If we are blank about his word we won’t see the reason we should wait on him and why he takes time to answer our prayers.
But the word of God tells us everything we need to know. Our prayer life is also important, because through prayers we have confidence that our desires will be granted.
In essence, the word of God is life, it gives us hope. So we know that his promises will come to pass. There are so many instances in the bible where God made a promise and it was accomplished. We can only get this if we study is word always.
